Dr Jenny Cole

Jenny is a Lecturer in Health Psychology based at Keele University. Having started her academic career in experimental social psychology, looking at interpersonal communication, she entered the world of qualitative research through studies on body image and video gaming. She is now a reflexive thematic analysis enthusiast working on weight stigma.

Jenny describes herself as a research magpie, having been involved in projects on a wide range of topics, including video games, fashion, 3D body scanning, and endometriosis. Her current work focuses on weight stigma in healthcare, particularly in pregnancy healthcare experiences. She works from a weight-neutral paradigm, and her lived experience of weight stigma and disordered eating informs this approach to her research.

When she’s not working, Jenny can be found playing video games, learning to sew, and reading science fiction.
